January blog......

HANG IN THERE!
Wishing everyone reading this blog a safe and productive new year. It’s important to remember that no matter how difficult it is at the moment we are closer to the finish than we are the start. Hang in there!

BACK TO WORK
Some organisations take the opportunity at the start of the calendar year to arrange and deliver ‘back to work’ training. This is an annual arrangement of refreshing some of the key health and safety topics that their employees need to ensure their understanding is maintained.

There are a number of ways in which this can be delivered to your employees whilst maintaining social distancing:

1. Use an open room (such as a workshop or factory floor) to ensure everyone has enough space between each chair/desk. Use a screen to show any information.
2. You can use a boardroom/training room but minimize the numbers at any one time. Perhaps run a morning and afternoon course to ensure everyone is captured.
3. Make it site based. If your employees are straight back to work, why not capture them with tool box talks in between some of their work. You could have colleagues to help capture other employees at different sites.
4. Using video conferencing to relay the message is an option widely used at this moment in time. Introduce breakout rooms to maximise people’s interaction and engagement.

I’m sure there are other options available but these appear to be the most popular. Whatever platform you decide to deliver this information at least there is a commitment to relay the information. Please don’t be an organization that doesn’t do anything and doesn’t invest in their employees.

Stay safe!
