NEW REVISED TRAINING COURSES
Safety Horizon (South West) have revamped their own library of training courses which can be delivered direct at customer premises. We offer the following courses:
Manual handling principles: A 2-3-hour course explaining the anatomy and the importance of preventing Musculo-skeletal injuries. This course can be extended to include delegates participating in assessing manual handling activities that is relevant to their working environment.
Abrasive wheels: A practical course explain the significant hazards associated with using hand-held and fixed abrasive wheels. It also covers the selection, mounting and inspection of the wheel. This course duration is normally 2-hours.
Office Essentials: This 3-hours training course is targeted for any employee working within an office environment that needs to be aware of the common hazards that exists along with our top tips for managing and controlling them.
Working at height: One of our most popular courses, the working at height course is approximately 4-hours and covers the significant issues facing industry. It is built around risk assessment and the selection of correct access equipment, working safely at height including the provision use of harnesses.
COSHH awareness: A short course explaining the main requirements of the legislation and the breakdown of the assessment process. Usually a 1-hour course.
Incident investigation: This training course/workshop will not explain the process that needs to be followed but the principles of the COM-B model and how this influences how we investigate incidents to prevent possible recurrences.
Risk assessment in practice: Between 4-5 hours this theory and practical course will ensure delegates not only understand the procedure of completing risk assessments, but they will also have essential practice in applying this learning within their own working environment. An essential course any person who is responsible for completing risk assessments.
Fire warden: Targeted at any person who is has some fire safety responsibilities. A 3-hour classroom course going through the principles of fire prevention, fire chemistry and the responsibilities of a fire warden as well as understanding the legislation that underpins this subject.
Environmental Awareness: A new course which is approximately 2-hours in duration is perfect for those looking to have a baseline understanding of what an organisation needs to consider managing their environmental responsibilities.
Note: All courses are assessments based with all successful delegates receiving a certificate of achievement, not just attendance.
